ALTOONA (27-21) 3-4-0
ERIE (21-26) 2-9-2

Altoona handed the SeaWolves their third consecutive loss Monday at UPMC Park, sneaking past Erie 3-2.

The Curve got on the board first for the fourth straight game with a Jordan Luplow solo homer off of Erie starter Myles Jaye in the top of the third.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Zach Cox smoked his first home run of the season to the batter’s eye in centerfield. The two-run bomb gave the SeaWolves the 2-1 lead going into the fifth inning.

The lead did not last long for the Erie SeaWolves. Kevin Kramer led off the fifth with a solo shot to tie the game at 2-2. The two home runs were the only hits given up by Jaye, who ended his outing with seven strikeouts in five innings.

Still tied in the seventh inning, SeaWolves reliever Mike Zagurski gave up his first run on the season on Jordan Luplow’s second home run of the game. Erie headed into the seventh inning stretch trailing 3-2.

Altoona reliever Sean Keselica walked two in the bottom of the 8th with one out. With two men on, Zach Cox went down swinging and Grayson Greiner grounded into a fielder’s choice to leave the runners stranded.

The SeaWolves went three up, three down in the ninth to give them their third consecutive loss to close out the home stand.

Erie now hits the road to Bowie to start a three game series. LHP Tyler Alexander (2-3, 4.89 ERA) is squared to duel with Bowie’s RHP Brandon Barker (2-1, 4.20 ERA). The Baysox currently sit at second in the Western division with a 27-24 record and have won three in a row.
