Erie city councilman Bob Merski throws his hat in the ring on the democratic ticket for the next mayor of Erie.
Merski has served five years on the city council, even serving as council president.
He says Erie needs a leader moving forward and says he has the right experience for the job.
Merksi says, “We need government innovation. We need to reclaim our neighborhoods and we need to work with out businesses to create jobs in out community. I’ve been doing all that on council. I want to take it to the next level as mayor.”
Merski is the sixth person to announce for the democratic side of the race.
There are two people running on the republican side.
